DIY Bunting Kit Instructions

{ Note } Your kit includes three different prints. I have assigned a letter to each print in these instructions, though your prints will likely be different from those displayed in my images. Assign each of your prints a letter (A, B, C) to follow the instructions below.

(1) Steam-iron the flags and the double-fold bias tape, folded, to remove wrinkles that may have snuck in during transport.

(2) Starting 8" from one end of the bias tape, insert the 6" base of a Print A glad into the middle fold of the bias tape. Steam-iron the flag and the bias tape, if desired.

(3) Pin the flag into place.

(4) Leave about 2" of bias tape after the base end of your first flag, then insert the 6" base of a Print B flag into the middle fold of the bias tape.

(5) Pin the flag into place.

(6) Leave about 2" of bias tape after the base end of your second flag, then insert the wide base of a Print C flag into the middle fold of the bias tape.

(7) Pin the flag into place.

(8) Repeat steps 2 through 7 until you get through all your flags.

{ Note } Once your final flag is pinned into place, you should have roughly 8" of bias tape remaining.

(9) Using a hand-stitch needle or your sewing machine, straight-stitch a quarter inch from the bias tape fold that is closest to the flag body, removing the pins as you go.

(10) Trim the excess thread, hang your bunting, and start the celebration!

Character Add-Ons
To append an iron-on character, simply remove the paper backing, place the character (fabric facing upright) onto the flag in the desired location, and no-steam iron it for a dozen seconds into place.
