I hope you all had a lovely Labor Day weekend!
Usually J and I go with his family to his grandmother's river house. I sorely missed it this weekend as we stayed back and the rest of the fam went. But I know that all of our hard work on the house will pay off soon.
I think "Labor" was a perfect word to name our weekend. We went to the house each day for about 9 hours. It was exhausting but so rewarding.
And each night, if I had enough energy, I'd read one of my favorite books, Mr. Maybe by Jane Green, before going to sleep. You ever feel like you're home when reading a book? Sounds so cheesy, but that's exactly how I feel when I read this book. Like literally I'm thinking about how I want to read it right now. And about how I'm considering rereading it when I'm done. Crazy.
If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. I first read it about, oh, probably eight years ago. After I was wowed by it, I sought out the author's other books. Some are great and some are so-so, but if you're looking for that last summer read, Mr. Maybe* is it. I'm always on the prowl so I thought I'd pass along this goodie.
