Will You...

Over the past two weeks, the people that I hoped would be in my bridal party have received one of these in hand-addressed packages:

I found them by scouring etsy for inexpensive but playful gifts. That's when I found Kayl'a Inkling Paper shop.

I glanced through her shop and found her notepads. I thought they were absolutely perfect but I wanted more design options so I also dug through her Sold Items and picked some more designs that would suit my recipients perfectly.

I contacted Kayla to see if she'd be down to turn some of her sold non-notebook designs into these adorable notepads that I could purchase. She responded with a cheerful yes and then, to my happy surprise, mentioned that she'd be up for a trade with my shop if I ever would.

I thought it was my golden opportunity to flex my budget wedding muscles and asked if we could do the trade right then for the notepads. She obliged, chose a headband, and we were both happy! - which proves that you should always try try try. If I hadn't asked her if she could kick some previous designs into gear, she wouldn't have thrown out the trade idea.

Once I received the notepads, I wrote individual notes asking if the recipient would be in our wedding party.

It was so exciting to receive the responses. I was really happy that I chose a special little gift as a vehicle through which to ask my friends (D, Y, and R) and sister. Even though they all knew I'd be asking them, I liked the suspense of not telling them when we discussed tentative wedding plans and dancing around the subject a bit. I think a bit of a dramatic flair goes a long way in developing the excitement around these things.

Another check on the wedding list!

Thanks so much for featuring me on the blog today! I've been wearing my headband all. the .time. My coworkers probably think I don't own any other hair accessories at this point. :)

@Kayla - you're welcome! And thanks for featuring me on yours. What a funny coincidence. I think that my readers will love your pads just as much as my recipients did!
