This is the lavish "Handmade Ultra Premium Flokati Grey New Zealand Wool Rug (5' x 7')" from Overstock. That's a mouthful. At $212, it's a steal - and it's come down $35 since I first found it about two weeks ago. Score.
Wouldn't those tufts be fabulous under your toesies in the morning? Originally I thought it'd add great texture to the living room, but J recommended the bedroom, under the bed, and I was sold.
I never thought I'd like a rug as shagadelic as this, but I really can't get over it. I even marked it as "grey rug - LOVE IT" on my Home Decor spreadsheet. Now you know it's serious.
Let's be honest. This one isn't an "option", it's a go. Now if only I could locate my 10% off coupon for Overstock.
Next.
For the living room.
This bad boy appeals to my pretty, fluttery side, but I worry that the cream will not look good with our all-white trim and crown molding. Plus, we're going grey with some bright accents, so will the brown look out of place? I can't decide, but J likes it, and since he usually doesn't get into these sorts of things, I'll have to consider it. Plus, for the price - $137! - I really can't say no.
And about J. Well. Okay. He doesn't get into decorating much, like I said. Unless I can offer him something as nerdy as this:
Called the code rug, its description says "Deep grey field transmits random off-white symbols in a central network stopping just shy of the edge." Could it get any nerdier? I probably don't need to tell you he liked this one too. But at $300, now I've gotten spoiled by the Overstock prices and can't quite justify it. Especially when I have my eyeballs on a new IKEA couch.
I do think the code rug would look pretty fierce in the living room. BUT I'd have to spend more than double and I wouldn't be able to use my 10% off coupon - if I can find it.
Between the second and third, which would you choose? I need rug help!

Definitely the second rug! I don't think the cream in the rug will really clash that much honestly. It's such a small part of the rug and it's on the floor...far away from the eyesight of the crown molding. I also don't think the brown will look bad either. I like browns and grays together, plus the white and cream colors in the room lighten it all up a bit.
And I love the first shag rug too! Great for the bedroom. I'm happy to hear about the staining, I know you were going back and forth about whether or not to do it.
