Demo Work

Hopefully this Picasa joint won't interfere with my posting today.

Some more house happiness coming up:

Action shot of me removing a door. We actually took all the doors off (with the exception of the bathroom door, which I had to think about for a minute) our first night there. Every bit of progress counts.

Then, after inspecting the seemingly broken fridge, we realized that it was, in fact, broken. Someone or something had cut the cord in the back that allowed the cooling system to cool. Not cool. (That's a lot of "cool".) We were hoping to move it into the basement once our stainless appliances came in and stock it with Zazz. Damn.

Next we decided we should remove some more appliances, so J dove in the cabinet to disconnect the electrical on the stove. Look at him work!

I even snapped a few of him carrying that bad boy out to his truck. It was apparently really heavy.

Flash forward a few days, and here's a shot of the kitchen with its wallpaper (several layers, in fact), removed, thanks to J's mom and sister. And there's the broken fridge in the middle of the floor. I should have taken a shot of the floor under where the fridge was. Di-sgusting. Seriously.

And here's the master bedroom, stripped of its wall paneling and filled with the pieces. Kind of sad, but it looks much better already.

And here come the fun pictures - the demo pictures. If you look really closely, you can see the sketch of what was going to be cut out on the wall, looking from the living room into the kitchen.

And here is the start of the destruction. Wah ha ha.

Sweet. Now you can see a glimpse of the kitchen from the living room. I don't have any more of these right now, but I'll show you the update soon.

We also widened the hallway door/entryway leading from the living room toward the bathroom and bedrooms. Here's the first part of the demo, from the living room:

And here's a view from the hallway:

And here's a finished UNfinished shot of the widened entryway. Pretty sweet, huh? "Hello, 21st century. I don't think you've ever met House."

I'll keep them coming and soon we'll be caught up.
